What Nabi told Stellenbosch’s Devin Titus

A brief exchange between Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi and Stellenbosch FC winger Devin Titus after the midweek fixture sparked a lot of speculation. However, what the Tunisian mentor said to the Bafana Bafana star has since emerged.

Titus has had a bright season so far, netting five goals and providing three assists for Stellenbosch FC across all competitions. His impressive form earned him a call-up to the South African national team, and he was featured in the final two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

But while impressive against the Soweto giants in the Betway Premiership match on Tuesday, he could not help the Winelands outfit to win maximum points. Amakhosi came back from behind to win the game 2-1 at the FNB Stadium.

The victory provided much-needed relief for Nabi, who has been tasked with reviving Amakhosi’s fortunes. This result lifted them to fifth place in the league table, setting the stage for their upcoming clash against Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

WHAT DID NASREDDINE NABI SAY TO DEVIN TITUS

According to information gathered by FARPost, the former Young Africans and AS FAR Rabat coach sought out Titus to offer words of encouragement.

The Chiefs mentor took time to commend Titus on his impressive performance. He reportedly highlighted the 24-year-old player’s immense potential and urged him to continue working hard.

Titus rose through the ranks at Stellies and has played various positions at the club. Notably, most of his goals have come as a right winger.

Titus has 24 goals and eight assists in 105 matches since his senior team promotion. At least 18 of those goals and seven of the eight assists came when deployed on the right wing.

Interestingly, Nabi has relied on Wandile Duba, known to be a centre forward, on the right wing. Although Nabi is eager to sign wingers, his primary transfer target is Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis.
