What has impressed Makhaula about Pirates’ youngsters

Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula has shared some insights on what has impressed him about the current crop of youngsters in the team.

The Buccaneers are one of the in-form teams in the Betway Premiership. The club has also shown faith in some of the young players such as Relebohile Mofokeng, Boitumelo Radiopane and Mohau Nkota who have become regulars in the team this season.

MAKHEHLENE MAKHAULA IMPRESSED BY THE ATTITUDE OF THE YOUNG PLAYERS AT THE CLUB

Speaking at the official draw of the Nedbank Cup last 32 in Johannesburg, Makhaula shared a common quality that he believes the young players at the club share. Pirates were drawn against Richards Bay in an away match.

“They are not giving us problems because they are young. They are always there to listen to the older guys,” he said.

“To listen to whatever that you tell them. They always listen and I am happy that they always want to learn.

“They come to us, the senior guys and ask how I can do this. Then we sit down and talk. We have one group of youngsters that respect the senior guys,” he added.

“We will never find them in these things that are happening in the streets. So I am happy about them. We are managing well, the coaches are helping us and even the management. So I think they are on the right track.”

ORLANDO PIRATES NOW SHIFT FOCUS TO THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ON SUNDAY

Makhaula missed the club’s Betway Premiership defeat to Cape Town City on Wednesday. He is eligible to play in the CAF Champions League when the Buccaneers face CR Belouizdad at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

A win for Pirates would cement a place in the quarter-final stage with one game to spare. They currently sit on top of Group C with eight points from 4 matches.
