New twist for Makhubela as he appears destined for Magesi FC
Ntsako Makhubela’s future has taken an unexpected turn. After agreeing to join Durban City, he now appears destined for Betway Premiership side Magesi FC.
As previously reported, Makhubela had agreed to move to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side on a free transfer having parted ways with Richards Bay at the end of the previous season.
During Durban City’s Nedbank Cup clash against Highbury FC, this publication asked about the whereabouts of attacking midfielder Makhubela.
Coach Simo Dladla revealed that Makhubela was absent due to unspecified family commitments.
With him gone now, it remains unclear whether any discussions took place between the two clubs regarding a potential move for the player to the Limpopo-based team.
Makhubela’s experience could come in handy for Magesi who have been struggling to get positive results lately.
The club’s head coach Owen Da Gama recently told the media that he believed they needed significant reinforcements this transfer window.
‘WE NEED TO GET SOLDIERS NOW’
“I think the team definitely needs strengthening. There’s no doubt about it. The team needs strengthening,” said Da Gama.
“We need to bring in some players. And I think the management realized that as well. We need to strengthen the team.
“We need to get soldiers now, you know, people that are going to fight for you. You’ve got to fight out of this situation, you can’t play out of it.
“You’ve got to fight out of it. And if the fight is not in the door, where’s the fight?”
When asked further about possible signings he revealed that there were players that they were already looking at.
“We are working on quite a few aspects of signings. We’re looking at them,” said Da Gama
“But you’ve got to understand, we can’t bring in a player that we must still coach for six months, and then at the end of the season he’s ready to play.
“We need players who can come in and hit the ground running. We need players that are ready to play, players that are hungry to play, players that can come and add value to the team. It’s as simple as that.”
