Latest on Seshego Stadium after PSL visit
With only one venue available for three Polokwane-based teams ahead of the Nedbank Cup Last 32, the PSL conducted an inspection at the Seshego Stadium on Wednesday.
Polokwane City FC, Magesi FC and Sekhukhune United were all drawn at home during the official launch of the competition in Johannesburg last week.
According to the PSL fixture schedule, the last 32 matches are scheduled for the weekend of 25 January. Polokwane will host minnows The Bees from Mpumalanga, Magesi will play SuperSport United and Sekhukhune United will host Cape Town City FC.
Only one stadium in Polokwane, the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, meets the required PSL stands to host matches. The New Peter Mokaba Stadium is currently undergoing grass rehabilitation after it was damaged due to a Music festival.

“We welcome the PSL inspection team led by Prof. [Ronnie Schloss]. We are happy with the progress that we are seeing,” said Mayor Mpe.
POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY MAYOR HAPPY WITH THE PROGRESS MADE AT SESHEGO STADIUM
“We are happy that the stadium is ready. It was just some final touch-ups that they are doing, especially paintings of some of the parts of the grandstand. As you can see, the grandstand is looking beautiful and ready to host a match. The pitch is equally ready to host a match.
“As we have always said, the Seshego Stadium is the home of Magesi and we hope this will also change their fortunes so that they can move to the position where they are. We are also happy that the economy of Seshego benefits from this.”
“We are confident that the stadium will pass the test and we will have games of Magesi in some days or weeks to come being played here.”
The Seshego Stadium has a 15,000 capacity, with the grandstand accommodating 5,000 people.
