Gallants, Chippa stuck in bottom eight as Arrows, Galaxy draw
Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy settled for a 1-1 draw in a mouth-watering PSL tie before Chippa United were held to a 2-2 by Marumo Gallants at home.
Though the matches ended in draws, all teams managed to deliver massive goalmouth action.
The match between Arrows and Galaxy was played at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Golden Arrows started the match in high tempo as they wanted to capitalise on their home advantage.
FORMER CHIEFS TRANSFER TARGET ON TARGET FOR TS GALAXY
Arrows’ pressure in the early exchanges quickly paid off when midfielder Velemseni Ndwandwe opened the scoring in the 17th minute.
But their lead was short-lived. They managed to keep it for three minutes as ex-Kaizer Chiefs transfer target Victor Letsoalo scored for TS Galaxy.
Letsoalo scored for The Rockets in the 20th minute. Moreso, this result saw Arrows remain sixth on the Betway Premiership log standings.
On the other hand, TS Galaxy remained in 11th place on the log.
The two sides will hope to revive themselves in the next round fixtures to uplift themselves on the standings.
Meanwhile the two sides shift focus to the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 which kicks off next weekend.
Golden Arrows face Chippa United while TS Galaxy date Vasco Da Gama in the first stage of the cup competition.
MARUMO GALLANTS FIGHT BACK TO FORCE A DRAW
In the second match, Marumo Galants were first to score after 15 minutes through Edgar Manaka.
Seven minutes later, Bienvenu Eva Nga restored parity for Chippa United as the home side took full control of proceedings.
The Chilli Boys then extended their lead after 42 minutes through former Orlando Pirates man Justice Chabalala.
Gabadinho Mhango scored for Marumo Gallants after 55 minutes, as the match reached its boiling point.
Gallants finished the match one man down after Masindi Nemtajela was red-carded on the stroke of half-time.
Both teams remain stuck in the bottom half of the elite league, with Chippa United sitting on 12th position followed by Gallants. Both teams have 15 points apiece.
