Sekhukhune cut ties with Lehlohonolo Mtshali

Sekhukhune United have parted ways with defensive midfielder Lehlohonolo Mtshali as the January transfer window nears its close.

The 30-year-old joined Babina Noko in July 2023 after parting ways with the now-defunct All Stars, who sold their status to Black Leopards.

The experienced midfielder, who has played in the Betway Premiership and the Motsepe Foundation Championship, struggled to get game time at the Limpopo club.

Mtshali is leaving Sekhukhune to seek a new challenge in his football career, where he can continue to showcase his God-given talent.

In the current season, Mtshali has played only four games across all competitions for Sekhukhune. Overall, he has played 25 matches since his arrival at the club.

Mtshali leaves Sekhukhune in position four on the Betway Premiership table with 23 points after 13 outings. Babina Noko are seven points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

LEHLOHONOLO MTSHALI’S AGENT CONFIRMS HIS CLIENT’S DEPARTURE FROM SEKHUKHUNE UNITED

Mtshali’s agent, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, confirmed his client’s departure from the Lehlohonolo Seema-coached side and thanked the Limpopo club for the opportunity they granted to the talented midfielder.

“Thank you, Sekhukhune United FC, for the opportunity you gave my player, Lehlohonolo Mtshali,” Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi stated.

“I’m working overtime to get him another team, God willing.”

In his football career, the player also had stints with teams such as Orlando Pirates and Jomo Cosmos.

Mtshali is now free agent after being handed his clearance. He can now sign with any team of his choice as the Betway Premiership is heading to the second round of the campaign.

In the January transfer window period, Sekhukhune have strengthened their squad with the addition of winger Katlego Otladisa from Pirates on a loan deal and midfielder Kagiso Mayinga.
