AmaZulu loanee set for D’General debut
AmaZulu FC loanee Siphephelo Malcom Majola is set to make his debut for ABC Motsepe League side D’General after joining the club on loan. D’General is pushing for promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship and has secured the versatile player on loan.
Majola, who recently turned 23, will spend the rest of the season at the Botshabelo outfit as he looks to taste action in the third tier. The player is in the final 20 squad facing Mathaithai on Saturday in the Botshabelo derby. The Botshabelo derby clash is set for Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium at 3PM.
After 16 games played in the Stream A league, D’General, who reached the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup last season, are second. They have won eight matches, drew six times and lost twice.
Buffalo FC are currently at the top, having collected 33 points, a point more than D’General.
WHY D’GENERAL HAVE SIGNED MAJOLA
The arrival of Majola is expected to strengthen their chase for the title. The former AmaZulu DStv Diski Challenge star can play as a right back. He is also able to play as a box-to-box midfielder.
A couple of days before the transfer window closes, the club looks poised to add a few more players. They will be looking to win their stream and go to the playoffs to compete for a place in the second tier.
Cape Town City midfielder Kamogelo Mokotjo made history last season when he became the first footballer to be drawn against a club he runs in the same competition. At the time, he was still with Sekhukhune United. Babina Noko beat the third-tier side, ending their fairytale run. They had accounted for Madridtas FC in the last 32 of the competition.
Mokotjo and Lesedi FM radio personality Nyakallo Leine are co-owners of the Botshabelo-based club.
