Mmodi strikes twice as Chiefs beat Nedbank Cup minnows Free Agents
Pule Mmodi scored a brace as Kaizer Chiefs beat Nedbank Cup minnows Free Agents 4-0 to progress to the tournament’s Round of 16 on Sunday night.

KAIZER CHIEFS MADE SIX CHANGES IN THEIR LINE-UP AGAINST FREE AGENTS
The Soweto giants made six changes to their starting line-up from the team that faced Sekhukhune United last weekend in a Betway Premiership tie.
Happy Mashiane, Reeve Frosler, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Yusuf Maart, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Mfundo Vilakazi started in the match, replacing Bradley Cross, Njabulo Blom, Rushwin Dortley, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Samkelo Zwane, and Tebogo Potsane.
FREE AGENTS ONE OF THE ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE CLUB TO QUALIFY FOR NEDBANK CUP
Free Agents, who come from the SAFA Gauteng ABC Motsepe League, were one of the eight amateur teams that qualified for the 2025 Nedbank Cup competition.
The other seven teams that secured their places in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 were Vasco Da Gama [Western Cape], Umvoti FC [KwaZulu-Natal], Lerumo Lions [North West], Mpheni Defenders [Limpopo], Naas The Bees [Mpumalanga], Sibanye Golden Stars [Free State], and Mighty Eagles [Eastern Cape].
KAIZER CHIEFS COACH NASREDDINE NABI NOT ON THE BENCH
Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef took charge of the game from the bench for the second occasion, while coach Nasreddine Nabi completed the final match of his suspension. However, Nabi was giving instructions from the stands at the FNB Stadium.
In addition, coach Nabi will be available for the much anticipated Betway Premiership Soweto Derby against the in-form Orlando Pirates next weekend.
PULE MMODI BAGS BRACE FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
Talented winger Pule Mmodi scored a brace as The Glamour Boys defeated Free Agents at the Calabash. Mmodi broke the deadlock in the 18th minute of the contest to put Chiefs in front. He added to the scoreline in the 26th minute to complete his brace.
Meanwhile, in the 62nd minute, Inacio Miguel scored the third goal, with Ranga Chivaviro scoring the fourth one for Chiefs to seal the win.
RED CARD FOR FREE AGENTS FC
Free Agents finished the match with one man down after Saheed Adebayo received a red card in the 64th minute of the game.
KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE WON THE TOURNAMENT 13 TIMES
Amakhosi came into this match against the SA third-tier side, having won the tournament a historic 13 times, and will aim to achieve their 14th title this year.
