Kaizer Chiefs confirm three new signings
Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signings of Thabo Cele, Tashreeq Morris, and Glody Makabi Lilepo a day before the January transfer window closes.
Cele joined Amakhosi after reaching an agreement with the club after his release by FC Fakel Voronezh in Russia last week.
Morris, who was on SuperSport United‘s books, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to stay at Naturena until 30 June 2027. This move is part of a swap deal, in which striker Christian Saile will join Matsatsantsa.
Meanwhile, Lilepo, a Congolese international, is part of the Amakhosi from French club Valenciennes FC. Once his work permit is approved, the right-winger will be eligible to join the Glamour Boys.
WHAT KAIZER MOTAUNG JR SAID ABOUT THE NEW SIGNINGS
The club’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, expressed his delight at having signed the three players, as the Betway Premiership is heading to the second round.
“It’s been a long time coming for Thabo, and we are both glad that he’s finally here. We know his quality and we are looking forward to his contribution to the squad as we continue to build,” Motaung Jr on Cele’s acquisition.
On Morris, Motaung Jr added: “We would like to welcome Tashreeq to the Amakhosi family and look forward to his contributions in the upcoming matches. He is an experienced striker who came highly recommended by coach Nabi and his technical team after their assessment. We wish him all the best in the Gold & Black colours while here with us.”
“We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of a player with his experience and wish him all the best. We’ll do our utmost to help him settle in quickly and look forward to seeing him in action soon,” stated Motaung Jr on bringing Lilepo to Chiefs.
