Wydad Athletic Club confirm Thembinkosi Lorch’s signing
Wydad Athletic Club have confirmed the acquisition of Thembinkosi ‘Nyoso’ Lorch from Mamelodi Sundowns on a loan deal.
The former Orlando Pirates star reunites with coach Rulani Mokwena at the Moroccan giants.
This comes after the two teams reached an agreement for the experienced midfielder. Lorch arrived in Morocco on Friday to complete medicals and sign on the dotted line.
Mokwena’s relationship with Lorch has proved to be of a father and son, as he was brought by him to Masandawana in January 2024.
However, things took a U-turn when Mokwena was shown the exit door at the Chloorkop-based outfit, which resulted in a lack of game time for Lorch at Bafana Ba Style.
In the current campaign, Lorch only played in seven games across all competitions, scored one goal and weighed in with one assist for Sundowns.
Under the guidance of Mokwena last season, Lorch featured in 24 matches for Sundowns. To top off, he found the back of the net on 11 occasions and contributed four assists.
Mokwena joined the Moroccan giants at the beginning of the season after cutting ties with the Brazilians.
