The SAFA Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League clash between Sinenkani FC and G-Millionaires FC did not take place, as the match officials never showed up for the game.
This issue left the two teams without answers as to why the referees did not show up for the match on Saturday afternoon at the Mafumbatha Stadium in Bizana.
“The match between Sinenkani FC and G-millionaires FC is being delayed due to non-arrival of referees. We will keep updating on the situation as it unfolds,” Sinenkani said in a statement before the game could officially be called off.
The matter is now in the hands of SAFA Eastern Cape, which will conduct its own investigation to find out what led to the match officials not showing up on the day.
Meanwhile, in the Limpopo province, two matches were postponed due to bad weather conditions over the weekend. The two fixtures were a game between Tubatse United and Thoka Matsemela’s Ngwaabe City Motors FC and a match between Royal Pirates and Lebash Football Academy.
