Fiston Mayele’s reaction to Nabi’s message to Chiefs fans
Pyramids FC striker Fiston Mayele was the first to react to Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi’s message to the Khosi Nation on Sunday. Nabi shared a message on Instagram with the club’s fan base after Saturday’s defeat in the Soweto Derby.
Amakhosi succumbed to a narrow 1-0 loss to rivals Orlando Pirates, courtesy of an added time penalty converted by Patrick Maswanganyi. In his message, Nabi admitted that the Derby “result stings”.
Nabi went on to say he believes the project is on the right track. He also thanked the club’s fans and management for their “unwavering support”.
“Amakhosi faithful, your passion fuels us. A tough one yesterday, the result stings, but we see the progress, the strides we’re making. The journey is long, but we’re on the right path. Thank you for your unwavering belief, and thanks to management for their continued support. We will rise again,” he wrote on his Instagram.
FISTON MAYELE’S UNEXPECTED REACTION TO NABI’S MESSAGE
Just minutes after the post on Sunday afternoon, Mayele was the first person to comment on Nabi’s message. Interestingly, the prolific Congolese forward, who rose to prominence under Nabi at Young Africans, has previously been linked with Chiefs.
In his reaction, written in French, he wrote: “Profesa le Meilleur arrive InshAllah.” His words directly translate: “Professor, the best is yet to come, InshAllah [If Allah wills]. Nabi responded to the comment: “InshAllah mon fils, merci mon grand”. [InshAllah, thank you, my great son].
The DR Congo international joined Pyramids in July 2023 after two successful seasons at Young Africans. In those two seasons, Yanga won every trophy on offer in Tanzania.
Mayele scored 54 goals in those two seasons, guiding Yanga to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup. He is left with two years on his contract with the Cairo side.
