Sead Ramovic next move revealed after Yanga exit

Following his surprise exit from defending Tanzania champions Yanga SC, Sead Ramovic’s next move has been revealed.

The former TS Galaxy head coach parted company with Young Africans after a mutual agreement.

Ramovic has barely been at Young Africans for three months after he joined the Dar es Salaam giants in mid-November 2024. He replaced Miguel Gamondi, who had been sacked after two back-to-back defeats.

The German coach didn’t enjoy a perfect start, suffering defeat in his first two CAF Champions League games. Thereafter, he went nine games unbeaten, with seven of those straight wins.

However, the impressive run has not been enough to catch up with bitter rivals Simba SC. The Fadlu Davids-coached Simba is in pole position in the league after 16 games. They have only dropped points twice, with one of those being a draw. This means they have amassed 43 points, while Yanga is just a point adrift.

On Tuesday, the Tanzanian giants confirmed the departure of the 45-year-old coach and his assistant, Mustafa Kodro. Miloud Hamdi, an Algerian coach, will take over as Yanga’s new head coach. Hamdi won the Premier League title in Algeria with USM Alger during the 2015/16 season.

With Ramović already gone, Hamdi is expected to lead the team in the league fixture against KenGold on Wednesday afternoon.

WHERE SEAD RAMOVIĆ IS HEADED

According to reports, Ramović is expected to land in Algeria on Wednesday afternoon. CR Belouizdad is his next club, and indications are that they want him in the dugout for Saturday’s Super Cup final.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Ramovic was confirmed as the new head coach of Belouizdad.

“The club announces the appointment of Sead Ramović as their new first-team coach. CRB wishes Sead Ramović every success in his new duties,” reads the club statement.

The Algerian giants have replaced Abdelkader Amrani, who was axed last month after failing to reach the knockout stages of the CAF Champions League. The 68-year-old was only in charge for three months, having replaced French manager Corentin Martins four games into the season.

Martins was axed after a poor start to the season, which saw them win only once in the first four games.

In Algeria, Ramović looks set to work with Khanyisa Mayo, formerly with Cape Town City FC in South Africa. The Bafana Bafana striker joined the club at the start of the season.
