Update on the Shaune Mogaila case
Sekhukhune United winger Shaune Mogaila appeared before the Tembisa Magistrates Court on Tuesday for the culpable homicide case.
It was the second court appearance for the 29-year-old since being granted bail in November 2024. He has been charged with culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving and fleeing the scene.
The arrest and court appearance came after the horrific head-on collision that occurred on Andrew Mapheto Road in Tembisa in October 2024. Mogaila’s BMW M2 collided with a red Hyundai Grand i10. Alcohol, dagga, and a white powder believed to be cocaine were found in Mogaila’s car.
Tragically, a nine-year-old girl lost her life in the accident while her mother and a 13-year-old neighbour sustained serious injuries and were hospitalised.
The former Royal AM attacker only sustained a head injury, visible as a bruise on his forehead. He is out on R20,000 bail.

Meanwhile, Mogaila has been barred from playing or training with the first team until his case is finalised.
