‘He’s 20 but plays like he’s 35’, Beganovic on ex-Chiefs defender
TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic has hailed former Kaizer Chiefs defender Khulumani Ndamane, saying he is a veteran in a 20-year-old’s body following the youngster’s impressive displays.
The left-footed centre-back joined The Rockets in July 2024 from Amakhosi’s DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] side.
The talented centre-back from Sahlumbe near Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal has been a revelation for the Mpumalanga outfit. He has started 15 matches for the club in all competitions as he continues to carve a name for himself in South African football.
With the youngster featuring in defence, Galaxy have gone 12 matches unbeaten in all competitions. Six of those have been wins, with the other six draws.
WHAT BEGANOVIC SAID ABOUT EX-KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER KHULUMANI NDAMANE
“What I can say about him, he is almost 20 years [of age]. Imagine he plays all games like he’s 35 with the same confidence, no mistakes,” Beganovic told FARPost.
“In the air, on the ground, he’s an amazing player. I’m sure after a while, every team in the PSL will want to buy him because he has amazing skills. He’s also fast. He knows how to play long passes. He’s calm when we try to build up.”
The Galaxy head coach is excited about the development of young players on the team, including attacker Puso Dithejane and Samukelo Kabini.
“We have a young team. We want to produce young players and then sell them at the end of the season. It’s our job to develop them. When we take the players [from other teams], we have a lot of work to improve them. It’s a tough but beautiful job. We enjoy to talk. We enjoy to work [with the young players].”
Ndamane arrived at Amakhosi in August 2022 after being spotted playing for FC Drakensberg. He featured for both the Chiefs Under-17 and Under-19 teams.
After two years at Naturena, he made the move to TS Galaxy in search of regular playing time in the Betway Premiership.
