Why Joseph Molangoane quit Marumo Gallants
Veteran midfielder Joseph Molangoane has explained why he left Marumo Gallants, opting for a move to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.
Molangoane recently parted ways with the Betway Premiership side following a second stint.
During his first stint at Gallants, the 36-year-old was part of the team that reached the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals. He left at the end of the 2022/23 season but returned at the beginning of the current season.
Molangoane featured just twice for the club before his departure in January. He tells this publication that he decided to leave the club.
JOSEPH MOLANGOANE ON WHY HE LEFT MARUMO GALLANTS
“It wasn’t anything hectic; it was just a matter of me wanting something new,” Molangoane told FARPost.
“I did my part at Marumo, and things were still the same. So, I needed a new challenge. I sent a letter of termination on the 3rd of January. It was just a personal issue, and I just wanted to be in a space where I feel comfortable, and I am enjoying it. So Sunrise is one of the places where I am. I love being with these boys and also helping them grow.”
VETERAN MIDFIELDER MOLANGOANE SAYS THERE IS SOMETHING GOOD GOING ON AT SUNRISE FC
At Sunrise FC, Molangoane joins former professional players such as Tebogo Langerman and Edward Manqele.
“There is something about this club [Sunrise]. But I think my being here a season back made me realise that the ABC Motsepe League is one of the toughest leagues.
“A lot of people don’t know. But because I played in the Betway and at the ABC, it’s one of the toughest leagues and very challenging.”
Sunrise are currently one of the promotion contenders in the ABC Motsepe League in Limpopo. They have also roped in former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Punch Masenemela.
