Ex-Barcelona star’s heartwarming conversation with Munetsi
In a heartwarming conversation, ex-Barcelona star and Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Nelson Semedo gave a welcoming message to Marshall Munetsi.
The 28-year-old – Munesti joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on deadline day of the latest transfer window. Additionally, he made his debut on Sunday in the FA Cup against Blackburn Rovers.
He played for 24 minutes as he was introduced as a second-half substitute after 66 minutes of play.
Furthermore, the former Orlando Pirates midfielder became the seventh Zimbabwean player to join an English Premier League team.
He joins the like of Peter Ndlovu, Bruce Grobbelaar, Benjani Mwaruwari, Marvelous Nakamba, Jordan Zemura and Tawanda Chirewa.
In truth, the former Stade Reims captain is poised for success at Wolves despite their struggles this season.
Most importantly, it appears he is settling in well at the ambitious club which is coached by Vitor Pereira.
SEMEDO’S WELCOMING MESSAGE TO MUNETSI
In an interesting revelation by Wolves, Semedo had a brief but heartwarming conversation with Munetsi on his first day of training.
As revealed by the club, Munetsi stepped aside to pave the way for the Portugal star as they headed out the door to the training pitch. But Semedo insisted Munetsi go first, and Munetsi said: “From where I come from, you let the leader go first.”
And as if to make the 28-year-old feel comfortable, the Portugal star humbly said: “Everyone here is a leader, I’m just the guy who wears the armband.”
That was followed by a lengthy chat on the pitch as Semedo took Munetsi through his paces.
Wolves signed Munetsi along with Nasser Djiga, who joined from Red Star Belgrade. Munetsi impressed on his debut against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Moreover, he is in line for his EPL debut on Sunday. Wolves are gearing up for their next Premier League game against Liverpool at Anfield Stadium.
