What Sifiso Myeni admires the most about Mohau Nkota
Former Orlando Pirates star Sifiso Myeni has stated what he admires the most about the club’s starlet Mohau Nkota.
Nkota was promoted to the Pirates senior team ahead of the current Betway Premiership season. In the last campaign, he was impressive with the reserve side of the Soweto giants in the DStv Diski Challenge.
The young attacked joined other academy graduates such as Relebohile Mofokeng, Thabiso Sesane, Boitumelo Radiopane, Siyabonga Ndlozi and Thabiso Monyane in the first team of Pirates.
In his first season playing professional football, the 20-year-old has had his fair chance to showcase his skill and talent under the guidance of coach Jose Riveiro. Nkota has started some matches, and in others, he has been coming in as a substitute.
So far this campaign, the talented winger has played 18 matches in all competitions for the Sea Robbers, scoring four times and providing two assists.
SIFISO MYENI SAYS HE’S IMPRESSED BY NKOTA’S MATURITY WHEN PLAYING
The recently retired footballer Myeni says he’s impressed by the level of maturity Nkota has displayed when playing, including the youngster’s positioning, decision-making, and ball handling.
“Incredible young player to watch. I didn’t expect him to come and perform like that in his first professional season. It shows the hard work that is being done in the background in the development,” Myeni told FARPost.
“Besides him playing in my position [right winger], there are many things I like about him that I think make him unique.
“But what stands out the most for me is his maturity when playing. It’s as if he’s been playing in the PSL for many seasons. From what I have seen, he’s selfless, has better positioning and good decision-making skills, and handles the ball very well.
“At a big club like Pirates there is huge pressure, even for a youngster there is not time to settle in, he has to adapt. Nkota has stood up and shown his qualities; he is such a humble boy.”
