Dino Ndlovu opens up on stigma he is facing since returning to SA
Ex-Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu has opened up about the stigma he has been facing since returning to South Africa.
Ndlovu has been unattached since July 2024 when he left Turkish Ligue 1 outfit Sakaryaspor after a year-long stint.
He is currently in South Africa with hopes of finding a club in the Betway Premiership. However, he has faced a number of impediments in his attempt to restart his career back home.
In truth, Ndlovu’s desire is to play in South Africa again. But he has stressed that he will not accept anything less than a genuine opportunity.
WHY PSL CLUBS HAVE BEEN SNUBBING THE EX-BAFANA FORWARD
In a conversation with Robert Marawa on MSW, the 34-year-old has revealed why Betway Premiership clubs have snubbed him.
“This stigma that’s thrown into your face that ‘Dino Ndlovu is expensive, we don’t have a budget’ but as I said before that if you want something you try to get it by all means,” said Ndlovu.
“There has been engagements with [Kaizer Chiefs], [Orlando] Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns and they said he is expensive. What expensive? Did they speak to me or they spoke to someone else,” He asked.

When asked if he still wants to play in the Betway Premiership, Ndlovu said he has lost love of football due to the stigma.
“It gives me sleepless nights that I meet fans and they ask me why I cannot find a club in South Africa.
“And it’s still a question that I don’t even have an answer for. And sometimes it hurts me because it comes across as if you are not good enough.
“This phase that I had to endure, that I didn’t have a club made me to lose interest of football, to fall out of love with the game,” added Ndlovu.
