TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi gives latest update on Hlanti & Zulu
TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has given the latest update on trialists Sifiso Hlanti and Veluyeke Zulu who have been training with the club for some time.
The KZN duo has been with The Rockets since late last year under the watchful eye of head coach Adnan Beganovic.
Hlanti, who parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the previous season, seeks to reignite his career. Similarly, Zulu parted company with AmaZulu FC upon the expiry of his contract in June last year.
Sukazi was asked about the club’s decision on two players following Galaxy’s 2-1 defeat to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City FC in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Friday evening.
WHAT SUKAZI SAID WHEN ASKED ABOUT SIFISO HLANTI AND VELUYEKE ZULU
He answered, “I think they have been with us, training with us. When we make a decision, it will be the easiest thing [then], so they also have an opportunity to adapt and keep fit,” said Sukazi.
“We are different…we play in a particular way, as you know. And it takes a bit of time to adapt. So, no pressure, they will catch fitness, they will adapt, and we will take it from there.”
Meanwhile, reacting to the club’s elimination from Ke Yona by the second-tier side, Sukazi acknowledged that cup competitions are unpredictable and upsets can happen.
He also recalled that when they were still in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, they defied expectations and overcame favourites to claim the trophy in 2019. Galaxy beat Amakhosi in the final to win the Nedbank Cup title.
TS GALAXY CHAIRMAN ON NEDBANK CUP ELIMINATION
“We are a work in progress if you realise, we have a challenge of finding talent season in, season out, reinforce the team with probably good or better quality,” he added.
“Cup competitions are cup competitions. You never know who’s going to win it. That’s why even the favourites get eliminated.
“When we won it, I’m sure none of you believed it. When we started the journey against a third-tier club, we went on to win it. So, that’s how it is with cups, more especially the draws that look easier. Those are the ones that become the trickiest.
“You saw today [Friday night], this is one match that even if we played three hours, we wouldn’t score an extra goal.”
