Limbikani Mzava opens up on ‘surprise’ Magesi exit, next move

Limbikani Mzava has shed light on his unexpected departure from Magesi FC, offering insights into the circumstances surrounding his exit and hinting at his future plans.

Mzava was among the seven players let go by the club during the January transfer window period.

The 31-year-old had only joined the Betway Premiership side at the beginning of the season. He was also part of the side that won the Carling Knockout Cup under Clinton Larsen.

Mzava featured 11 times for the side before what he says was a surprise but a decision he had accepted.

WHY FORMER MAGESI FC DEFENDER WAS SURPRISED BY HIS EXIT FROM THE CLUB

“Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise. But obviously, these things happen in football,” he explained to FARPost. “So the club decided that they would release me. It wasn’t only me; it was a couple of players.”

Despite being strongly linked with a move to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC, Mzava has explained that he is currently unattached and training with fellow out-of-contract players who are based in Gauteng.

Former Magesi FC defender Limbikani Mzava has made an honest admission on his exit following his recent departure.

“I must say I have had contact with them [Magesi]. But I had told them to wait a bit because, at the time, I was not out yet from the club. But we never spoke about me going there or anything like that. I just left Magesi, and I am in Johannesburg at my place now.”

The Malawian has also been neutralised and currently holds South African citizenship.

“So I am currently training with some of the players that are out of contracts and looking for teams here in Johannesburg,” he said. “Obviously, I am hoping something will come up. That’s why I just want to keep pushing.”

Some of the players released by Magesi recently include Kgaogelo Sekgota, Jacob Everson, Njoti Tumelo, Mokhele Maloisane, Masegela Tholang, and Bongani Mpandle.
