Milford make coaching changes following poor results
Motsepe Foundation Championship promotion chasers Milford FC have suspended head coach Mandla Qhogi following inconsistent results in the second-tier league.
The KZN side started the season like a house on fire, topping the log standings for a few weeks. This includes a six-match unbeaten run in their opening matches under the former Orlando Pirates youth coach Qhogi.
But since November, the club has endured a poor run of form, winning only two of their last ten matches in the league. This downturn has resulted in a drop to fifth place on the log, with 29 points. They now trail league leaders Durban City FC by eight points, with 11 matches remaining in the season.
Milford FC have announced that chairman Dr Xanti BS Pupuma will return to the helm with immediate effect.

Dr Pupuma was in charge of the club during their debut season in the second-tier league. His stint includes the famous win against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup. They also finished 13th with 34 points, just three points above the relegation spot last season.
But at the end of the season, Dr Pupuma stepped down as the coach to focus on his role as the chairman. He also told this publication at the time that he would never return to coaching as it is a stressful job.
“It’s something that I wouldn’t do again; it brings a lot of stress and demand,” Dr Pupuma told FARPost.
