Tlou Segolela opens up on working relationship with Owen Da Gama
Magesi FC DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] mentor Tlou Segolela has opened up about his working relationship with the first team head coach Owen Da Gama.
Segolela has been promoted to take over as Dikwena Tsa Meetse’s DDC coach and was in charge of his first match last weekend, where they lost 3-1 to Orlando Pirates at Seshego Stadium. Da Gama was in attendance when Magesi lost to the Buccaneers.
‘Gautrain’, as he is popularly known, was roped in by Magesi at the beginning of the season as the club’s DDC team manager.
The former Pirates speedy winger is the new is the DDC coach, as Timothy Madia was recruited to the senior team as one of the assistant coaches to Da Gama, who took over the coaching reins after the resignation of Clinton Larsen in December last year.
In addition, Segolela previously worked with Da Gama as a player back in their days at Pirates.

Segolela, 36, acknowledged coach Da Gama as one person who he is close to and can always run to for advice, and for that reason, it is easier to work with him.
“Look, obviously, I have known coach Owne Da Gama since my playing days. He has been there in my career for quite some time. He is somebody who I can call at any time,” Segolela told this publication.
“Coach Da Gama is somebody who….is more open to me, but we are still new to the team. In the senior team, there is too much pressure in terms of relegation.
“So, he will have to fix his part first for the house to run smoothly and then, we can come to my house [DDC team] and see how we can work together in terms of developing the juniors.
“But my boys, they do get a chance to train with the first team to get that much-needed experience from the senior team players.”
