Mamelodi Sundowns terminate contract of promising attacker
Mamelodi Sundowns have made a decision to part ways with one of their promising attackers, Keabetswe Ramotsei, opting to terminate his contract.
Ramotsei was promoted to the Sundowns’ senior team from the club’s DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] side last season.
The left-footed midfielder was handed his first team debut by then-head coach Rulani Mokwena, who has since left the Brazilians to join Wydad Casablanca in Morocco in July 2024.
Ramotsei played his first senior team match when Sundowns faced TS Galaxy in the 2024 Carling Knockout Cup Last 16. He scored in the penalty shootout as the Tshwane giants suffered defeat.
After Mokwena left Sundowns at the end of last season, Ramotsei was loaned out to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC.
In his first six months with Venda FC, Masandawana decided to cut ties with Ramotsei in a move to downsize their squad. As a result of the contract termination, Ramotsei became a free agent, and Venda FC snapped him up as a midfielder on a free transfer.

The Limpopo-based side offered Ramotsei a six-month contract for the second round of the current campaign after parting ways with Downs.
With Venda FC out of the race for automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership, Ramotsei will be itching for a transfer move to the SA’s top-flight at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, in the past transfer window, Sundowns have also released Luvuyo Phewa and Lesiba Nku.
Phewa and Nku penned permanent deals with NFD club Durban City FC and Stellenbosch FC, respectively. The duo struggled to establish themselves as the regular starters at Sundowns, which resulted in their exit.
On the other hand, the Chloorkop-based outfit also loaned out Thembinkosi Lorch, Lebohang Maboe, and Rushine De Reuck to get game-time elsewhere.
Lorch joined Wydad AC, while Maboe is at SuperSport United with De Reuck completing a loan move to Israeli Premier League side Maccabi Petah Tikva.
