Sibusiso Mabiliso and Baroka FC part ways
FARPost has established that Baroka FC and defender Sibusiso Mabiliso have reached an amicable decision to part ways. Mabiliso joined the Motsepe Foundation Championship side at the beginning of the season.
The left-footed player had spent some time on the sidelines after leaving the Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC in January 2024.
Mabiliso was a regular at Baroka when he arrived until recently. He featured in 10 matches in all competitions for the Lebowakgomo-based club.
WHY SIBUSISO MABILISO PARTED WAYS WITH BAROKA FC
This publication has established that it was the player’s request to leave for a new challenge. This is despite the 25-year-old making an impact at the club since his arrival.
The former Kaizer Chiefs player had said he sees joining Baroka as part of reviving his career. Especially after stints at Chiefs and AmaZulu were not successful.
WHERE TO FOR THE FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS DEFENDER AFTER PARTING WAYS WITH LIMPOPO CLUB?
The recent development would mean Mabiliso can only join another club in the new season as he terminates his services outside the transfer window period. There have been talks of interest from two Betway Premiership clubs for the upcoming season.
Mabiliso leaves a Baroka side that has dropped to seventh place on the log with 10 matches remaining in the second-tier league. They were one of the two clubs that qualified for the PSL Promotional/Playoffs last season from the first division.
But the club has found it difficult to regain their form this season. They recently lost coach Joel Masutha, who resigned to take the job as an assistant at Black Leopards. The club also lost some experienced players, such as Given Mashikinya, who joined Magesi FC. Goalkeeper Tshepo Mohui and striker Siphelele Mthembu have also been let go.
