Sipho Mbule in hot water at Sekhukhune United

Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Sipho Mbule is in hot water at Sekhukhune United over serious disciplinary issues that could jeopardise his future at the club.

His loan tenure at Sekhukhune is at risk, as reports indicate that ongoing issues could lead to an early termination of his time there.

The former SuperSport United midfielder is currently on loan at Babina Noko from Sundowns until the end of the season. He featured for Sekhukhune in a clash against Milford FC over the weekend.

The Limpopo side won the game 2-1 to book a place in the quarterfinal of the Nedbank Cup. After leaving Sundowns in search of more playing time, the 26-year-old has participated in 14 matches across all competitions. He has netted two goals and provided two assists.

However, he now faces an early termination over his off-field behaviour.

WHAT DID SIPHO MBULE DO AT SEKHUKHUNE UNITED?

FARPost has gathered that the former South African youth international made a remark about one of the technical team members, implying that his advice “was outdated”. The advice was in relation to how Mbule is expected to play.

The Bethlehem-born star’s remarks were reportedly made in the presence of his teammates. Furthermore, Mbule allegedly violated team protocols by bringing an unauthorised individual into the camp.

The team is currently preparing in Durban for their forthcoming match against a rival, scheduled for Wednesday at a local stadium. Due to his misconduct at camp, he has been sent back to Johannesburg and will miss the match against Richards Bay FC.

Indications suggest that Sekhukhune is now contemplating an early termination of the contract. Mbule is no stranger to controversy, having reportedly arrived at training under the influence of alcohol while at Sundowns.

His transfer to Sekhukhune was expected to provide him with a second chance to redeem himself.

When contacted for comment, he denied the allegations before abruptly ending the call. “Don’t write this thing, it’s not true,” Mbule told FARPost.
