What Daniels thinks of former Bafana striker Bradley August as a coach
Veteran defender Clayton Daniels has expressed his views on what he thinks of the ex-Bafana Bafana striker Bradley August in his role as a coach.
August is the current head coach of the Crystal Palace team in the SAFA Western Cape ABC Motsepe League, with Daniels serving as the team’s captain
The 46-year-old mentor played for teams such as Hellenic, Lyngby, Santos, Ajax Cape Town, Maritzburg United, Ikapa Sporting, and Vasco Da Gama between 1995 and 2011.
He boasts 16 caps for the South Africa football national team. August made his debut for Bafana back in September 2000 in the AFCON qualifiers against the Republic of the Congo and scored.
Additionally, in the lower division league, he also coached an amateur side, Garlandale FC, based in Cape Town.
CLAYTON DANIELS VIEWS ON COACH BRADLEY AUGUST
Daniels portrayed coach August as a sincere mentor who genuinely cares for everyone and is passionate about providing young people the chance to showcase their talents.
“You know, he is a very honest coach, first of all. He is one coach who is very passionate about the beautiful game,” Daniels told FARPost.
“He is born a winner and always wants to win. But I have seen a different side of him now, besides the player that I saw back in the days.
“I see a grown-up who understands the game of football and wants to help the community. He is a person who is willing to help young players. He is also a person who gives opportunities to youngsters to showcase their talents. What a good coach we have.”
Currently, Crystal Palace are placed second in Stream A with 28 points from 14 outings. They are five points behind stream leaders Zizwe United.
Interestingly, the club’s next fixture will be against the log leaders Zizwe United on Saturday, 8 March. The game will take place at the Greens Sports Field. The kick-off is at 15:00.
