Orlando Pirates eyeing two Baroka FC stars

FARPost has established that Orlando Pirates have shown strong interest in signing two of Baroka FC’s rising players, Tshepho Mashiloane and Kabelo Kgositsile.

Since making their debuts in 2022, Mashiloane [22] and Kgositsile [21] have been revelations for the Motsepe Foundation Championship side – Baroka.

They have also become regulars in the club’s pursuit of returning to the Betway Premiership.

WHAT FARPOST KNOWS ABOUT ORLANDO PIRATES’ PURSUIT OF BAROKA FC STAR PLAYERS

This publication has gathered that the Soweto giants have officially enquired about the Limpopo side on the availability of the pair. This is after their impressive display during the Nedbank Cup clash in Orlando last month and in the league.

FARPost has further established that talks have already begun. This could see the pair moving to Mayfair at the beginning of the 2025/26 season.

Ahead of the Nedbank Cup clash last month, Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele also spoke about the good relationship that the two clubs share and the successful player transactions in the past. This includes the moves of Goodman Mosele, Evidence Makgopa and Collins Makgaka from Baroka to Pirates.

THE BAROKA DUO, TSHEPHO MASHILOANE AND KABELO KGOSITSILE

Kgositsile has been tipped to become the future of South African football. The left-footed player started at the club’s DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] as a left-wing back. He was later moved to a right-winger when he got promoted to the senior team. He is a skilful player who thrives on taking on opposition players.

Kgositsile was strongly linked with a move away from the club a season ago, with Cape Town City FC believed to be the likely destination. But the move never materialised, which saw him staying at Bakgaga.

Mashiloane, on the other hand, is a versatile defender who can play both as a right-back and a centre-back. Besides being comfortable in both positions, Mashiloane has shown more class as a centre-back due to his height, physicality and being comfortable on the ball.

He was also linked with a move to Sekhukhune United at the beginning of the current season. But that move also didn’t materialise.
