Marc van Heerden set to join Eric Tinkler at Sekhukhune
The former Orlando Pirates defender Marc van Heerden is set to form part of Eric Tinkler’s technical team at Sekhukhune United following the departure of coach Lehlohonolo Seema.
Babina Noko fired Seema two days ago following their loss 2-1 to Richards Bay FC in a Betway Premiership clash at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday night.
With Seema having shown the exit door, Kaitano Tembo and Paulus Masehe were tasked with leading the team on an interim basis.
As reported by this publication, Eric Tinkler is the favourite to take over the coaching reins at the Limpopo club. He is expected to hit the ground running next week.

Van Heerden is set to be appointed as Tinkler’s assistant coach at Babina Noko. The duo worked together at Cape Town City FC when Van Heerden was still playing for the Citizens.
FARPost can confirm that Van Heerden will join the Sekhukhune on Monday, 10 March 2025.
The 36-year-old hung up his boots in August 2024 after 20 years of playing football in the professional ranks.
In September 2024, the former defender obtained his UEFA B Coaching License, paving the way for his new chapter in football.
During his playing days, Van Heerden had stints with clubs such as AmaTuks, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu FC, Cape Town City FC, Stellenbosch FC and Chippa United.
Meamwhile, Sekhukhune were supposed to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium this afternoon, however, the match has been postponed as the stadium was double booked.
The stadium will host the U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier encounter between SA women’s U20 and Nigeria at 15h00.
