Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender Mario Booysen has found a new home after tendering his resignation as the head coach of Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town.
Antalyaspor JPM play in the SAFA Western Cape Hollywoodbets Regional Men’s League. Booysen has been with the club for four years, when he first joined the club as a player and became the side’s captain.
The 36-year-old will be joining ABC Motsepe League side Ubuntu FC, where he will serve as the club’s head of youth and football development.
The club and Booysen have separated on good terms, with Ubuntu and Antalyaspor JPM consenting to the arrangement.
Booysen, who retired from professional football last year, also turned out for clubs such as Ajax Cape Town, Bloemfontein Celtic, Maritzburg United, AmaZulu FC, SuperSport United, and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ubuntu will rely on Booysen’s vast experience gained from nearly two decades in professional football.

“Antalyaspor JPM CT Football club would like to announce the resignation and departure of the club’s head coach of our MRL League, coach Mario Booysen.
“Mario Booysen’s journey with our club started four years ago, where he was our first appointed club captain in the Clarewood JPM, ABC Motsepe league team.
“Mario announced his retirement from his illustrious playing career in 2024 and immediately took on the challenge of coaching. He did this with great ease and immediately showed growth and success by winning our club’s first-ever Coke cup tournament at the end of 2024.
“Mario Booysen departs our club for a new role as the head of youth and football development at Ubuntu Football club, after the two clubs reached an agreement for his services.
“We would like to take this opportunity to wish Mario all the best with his future endeavors.”
