Siphelele Ntshangase on life in the amateur league, PSL ambitions

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase has opened up about life in the SAFA ABC Motsepe League and why he doesn’t rule out a return to the PSL.

Ntshangase recently signed for Limpopo-based club Sunrise FC, who play in the third division of SA football.

He spent the last two seasons unattached after parting ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards. The 31-year-old has already featured for Sunrise, who are vying for promotion to the National First Division.

HOW EX-KAIZER CHIEFS MIDFIELDER IS SETTLING IN THE ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE

“It’s tough for me because I have not played football for two years. So far, I am settling in well,” Ntshangase told FARPost. “It’s challenging because I don’t know a lot of players. But there is a lot of competition. It’s very competitive, but I will adjust.”

Ntshangase further added that he still believes people are happy to see him play, and he deprived them of the opportunity while he was sitting at home.

“I think the only thing for me is that I was selfish in not giving people information in terms of football. That’s all. I am not sure if people are giving up. But I just know that within my circle, the fans are still happy.”

WILL FOOTBALL FANS WATCH SIPHELELE NTSHANGASE BACK IN THE PSL SOON?

“I think you are still going to see me around. Only God knows [if I will go back to the PSL]. My wish is to make [football fans] happy. Any level is fine,” he said.

“I have a short-term goal to promote the team because they want to go to the national first division. Only God knows about the long-term goal because I can’t predict what will happen in the next few months. I can only relate when something happens. I don’t know what will happen in the next three months or so. But I am happy so far.”
