Masilela reveals Sundowns star Chiefs should sign
Former Bafana Bafana defender Tsepo Masilela has revealed the Mamelodi Sundowns star Kaizer Chiefs should sign in the next transfer window.
Amakhosi have been under a rebuilding phase in a bid to end their long-standing trophy under the guidance of the highly-rated coach Nasreddine Nabi.
The Tunisian tactician has had a challenging start to life in South Africa after joining Chiefs ahead of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. His troops are currently occupying the eighth position on the league table with 28 points having won eight matches, drew four and lost eight times.
Meanwhile, Nabi has publicly expressed his desire to bring in quality players at Kaizer Chiefs to build a competitive side.
Since his arrival at Naturena, Chiefs signed players such as Gaston Sirino, Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, Fiacre Ntwari, Inacio Miguel, Thabo Cele, Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo.
TSEPO MASILELA SAYS CHIEFS MUST SIGN NEO MAEMA
With the Glamour Boys expected to make more signings at the end of the campaign, Tsepo Masilela has urged his former club to sign Neo Maema should he become available.
Maema’s contract at Sundowns will expire in June 2026 having signed a five-year deal in 2021 from Bloemfontein Celtic.
“I would say get him if he’s available, and if you want to build a championship side, meaning you want to challenge for the league, you need depth,” Masilela said when asked on Soccer Beat Podcast if Chiefs should consider the attacking midfielder.
“We’ve been talking about depth and I think Maema is one of those players who can add value in your team. And you want players that have tasted the feeling of winning championships.
“So he’s someone who can bring experience when you look at his age because he’s 29, if he’s available and I’m Kaizer Chiefs, I would go and get him.”
