Dan Malesela linked with a move back to Baroka
FARPost has established that coach Dan Malesela is set for a sensational return to Motsepe Foundation Championship club Baroka FC.
Malesela has been without a team after parting ways with Betway Premiership side Marumo Gallants recently.
He was replaced by Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who is now working alongside Duncan Lechesa and Sundra Govinder.
Baroka have been without a permanent coach after parting ways with Joel Masutha, who returned to his former side Black Leopards most recently. Foster Hlongwane has been in charge of the side on an interim basis.

Hlongwane was also in charge when Baroka suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to struggling Cape Town Spurs at Global Village in Lebowakgomo on Friday. They are now eighth in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, six points below the promotion playoffs spot. The former Premiership side is left with only eight matches to turn its fortunes around and secure a promotion spot.
The Motsepe Foundation Championship side has been linked with a number of coaches. This includes their former coach, Stanford Nkoane, who is now in charge at Venda FC.
BAROKA FC AND DAN MALESELA SMOKE THE PEACE PIPE AMID SENSATIONAL RETURN
But this publication has gathered that Malesela is set to take charge of the club as of Monday when they resume their training.
Malesela was in charge when Baroka qualified for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs last season. But he was surprisingly let go by club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele after having played only one match in the playoffs. He was replaced by current Chippa United sporting director Morgan Mammila, who also couldn’t help the team gain promotion to the Betway Premiership.
But it seems as if Malesela and chairman Mphahlele have smoked the peace pipe, resulting in the surprise return. He could be in charge when Baroka travel to Thohoyandou for the Limpopo Derby against Black Leopards on Saturday, 29 March.
