Chippa United football Sporting Director Morgan Mammila has shared his vision following his recent appointment to the new role.

Mammila, formerly a head coach at the Betway Premiership club, was appointed to the role last week. He is the first ever person to serve in that capacity at Chippa.

He first resurfaced at the club in early February when they travelled to Seshego Stadium in Polokwane with Chippa set to face Magesi FC. It is now the third time that he returns to the club after two previous stints.

The former Baroka FC coach is now responsible for overseeing the technical team, driving player recruitment, and strengthening the developmental and reserve team structures.

The club says his appointment is a strategic step in ensuring continuity and alignment across all footballing aspects of the club, from the development level to the first team.

MORGAN MAMMILA WANTS TO REWARD THE PEOPLE OF EASTERN CAPE FOR THEIR FAITH

“Firstly, I owe it to football more to the province of Eastern Cape to make sure that we take this team to where it belongs. You could see when we were playing Polokwane City FC the stadium was packed at 20:00. It tells you how big this brand is.

“The only thing that we need to do is to take this team up there where it belongs in the top five. But when will that be? From next season from next season, we are rolling. We will make sure that this team will never be the same again.”

Chippa United are currently in position nine on the log with 10 matches to play this season.
