Lehlohonolo Seema sheds light on his future after lifting trophy in Lesotho
Former Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has shed light on his future after helping Lesotho side Buntu FC to lift a trophy this past weekend.
Seema recently parted ways with Babina Noko in a what was a surprise move after guiding the club into the top four on the Betway Premiership table with a few matches left before the end of the current season.
The former Chippa United coach left Sekhukhune while they are sitting fourth on the league table with 31 points from 20 matches. At that time, they had won nine games, drew four and lost seven times.
Seema was in his second spell with the Limpopo-based side after being fired towards the end of last season. The former Orlando Pirates captain was brought back to Sekhukhune to replace Peter Hyballa who was fired prior to the start of the current campaign.
The Lesotho-born coach was roped in alongside his assistant Kaitano Tembo who has since been redeployed in the club’s development structures after Seema’s exit.
Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler has taken over the coaching role at Sekhukhune and brought his assistant coach Marc Van Heerden.
LEHLOHONOLO SEEMA OPENS UP ON HIS FUTURE
In a conversation with FARPost, Seema clarified that he’s not joining the Bantu technical team, stating that he was helping the club to prepare for the People’s Cup and he’s now back on South Africa.
“I was approached to come and help Bantu in the People’s Cup. I arrived on Tuesday [last week] in Lesotho to help the team, as you know that’s my former club and I’ve always been helping them even during my days with Bloemfontein Celtic,” Seema told FARPost.
“So I was just helping the team, I’m not joining them because they have a head coach and the league there is still developing, so as I said I’m not joining the team.
“At the moment I’m back in Johannesburg after helping Bantu. It’s just that these days news travel so fast because of social media but I’ve been helping the team for a long time.”
Seema will be looking to make a quick return to the touchline after gaining vast experience with teams such as Chippa United, Bloemfontein Celtic, Golden Arrows and Polokwane City FC.
