Morgan Mammila paves sensational return for axed Chippa key midfielder

Morgan Mammila’s new role at Chippa United has paved a sensational return for the club’s former key midfielder, Baraka Majogoro, who was released in the PSL January transfer window.

Mammila was recently appointed as the Chippa’s first-ever Sporting Director to take responsibility for driving player recruitment, strengthening the development and reserve team structures.

In his new position, the administrator-turned-coach has made a decision to reinstate the Tanzanian midfielder back to the squad.

The Gqeberha-based outfit surprisingly terminated Majogoro’s contract despite forming an integral part of the team in the past two seasons in the Betway Premiership.

In his two seasons at Chippa, Majogoro has been a regular starter in the central midfield position, featuring in 28 matches across all competitions. After facing a frustrating time on the sidelines since January 2025, Chippa has overturned their decision to part ways with a highly-rated midfielder.

Majogoro has been training with Chippa United since last week, and he could feature for the team after the conclusion of the FIFA international break.

FARPost understands that Morgan Mammila has played a huge role in bringing Majogoro back to Chippa after the duo worked together in past years at the club.

“Baraka Majogoro has been away from Chippa United after that surprise move to release him in January, but I can tell you that both parties seem to have ironed out their issues,” a source said.

“The player has been training with the team since last week, and he’s expected to return to the matchday squad after the FIFA break. Of course, that will depend on his match fitness because he hasn’t kicked the ball in an official match since last year.”

Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys are fighting to climb up the log standings in the Betway Premiership to finish the season in the top eight.

The Chippa Mpengesi-owned team is currently occupying the ninth position on the log standings with 25 points after 20 matches.
