What Rulani Mokwena said about Nabi’s target Feisal Salum

Wydad Athletic Club coach Rulani Mokwena has spoken glowingly about Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi’s prime target, Feisal Salum. Mokwena spoke to Azam TV about the Tanzania international’s abilities.

Salum started the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers clash for Tanzania against the Atlas Lions of Morocco. The East African nation fell 2-0 and are third in Group E after four games.

Nabi is a big admirer of the 27-year-old midfielder, having worked with him at Young Africans. In fact, the Tunisian mentor converted Salum from the six role to a 10, where he has shone as a regular scorer.

This season, the Azam FC talisman has scored four goals and provided 12 assists.

RULANI MOKWENA’S TAKE ON FEISAL SALUM

“He’s a very good player, one of the best on the continent,” he told Tanzania’s Azam TV. “For me, Feisal is very special, and for me I like his personality. Not only as a footballer, but also as a human being.”

The Chamazi Millionaires last week told FARPost they were ready to cash in on the Zanzibar-born midfielder. Salum is contracted to the Dar es Salaam-based club until June 2026. He joined them on a three-year deal from rivals Young Africans in 2023.

“We expect Feisal to deliver results because we are paying him a lot of money. However, if he decides to leave, that will be his choice. We are not stopping him from leaving,” said Azam FC spokesperson Thabit Zacharia.

“We have no plans to let Feisal go. But if a team makes an offer that meets our expectations, we will not stand in his way. However, as of now, we have not received any offers from any club.”

Amakhosi are not the only club eager to secure the services of the talented midfielder. Tanzanian giants Simba SC, who are coached by Fadlu Davids, are reportedly pursuing the player’s signature. The player, according to sources close to him, is eager to make a move in the next transfer window.
