TS Galaxy key man to miss Chiefs clash
A TS Galaxy key man with six-goal contributions this season is set to miss the Betway Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs. Embattled Amakhosi host Galaxy at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday. Kick off is 15h00.
The two sides go into the match with contrasting fortunes this season. Under Adnan Beganovic’s tutelage, the Rockets have been on an incessant rise.
After a poor start under Sead Ramovic, the Mpumalanga club is currently in fourth place on the log standings, thanks to an impressive run. Ramovic, who left for Tanzania’s Young Africans SC in November, is now in charge of Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.
Galaxy coach Beganovic has been in charge for 18 league games, winning half of those and playing six draws. He has only lost thrice this season.
On the other hand, Nasreddine Nabi has lost 10 of the 22 matches at the helm of the Soweto giants. He has only won seven and drew five times. The Tunisian mentor is under pressure to start getting results at Chiefs.
WHICH TS GALAXY STAR IS RULED OUT OF THE CHIEFS CLASH?
However, Beganovic will have to do without talented winger Kamogelo Sebelebele for the Chiefs clash. The 22-year-old utility player, who can also play as a wingback, has scored three goals and provided three assists this season in all competitions.
Notably, his solitary strike handed Mamelodi Sundowns the famous 1-0 defeat at the Mbombela Stadium in February. However, he will play no part for his club at the weekend when they face the Soweto giants due to suspension.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United are the hardest hit by suspensions and newly appointed coach Eric Tinkler will be without three of his stars. Keletso Makgalwa, Daniel Cardoso and Siphesihle Mkhize are all out serving suspension.
Babina Noko make the trip to Tinkler’s former club, Cape Town City FC, for a Betway Premiership match. The match will be played at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday. Kick off is 17h30.
Tinkler recently replaced Lehlohonolo Seema at Sekhukhune, who are currently in fifth place. He will be hoping to guide them to a top-four finish.
