Agent gives update on Mudau’s contract talks with Sundowns
The agent of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau has given an update on the player’s contract talks with the Tshwane giants.
Mudau’s contract with the Brazilians is due to expire at the end of the current season, but the club holds an option for a further extension, according to his representative Steve Kepeluschnick.
Mudau joined Sundowns in 2020 from Black Leopards, signing a five-year deal after spending three years with the Limpopo-based club.
Arriving at Bafana Ba Style as a 25-year-old who was not widely recognised, Mudau has grown into one of the most important senior players for the DStv Premiership [now Betway Premiership] champions.
Sundowns are undoubtedly eager to secure the continued services of the Bafana Bafana right-back.
Kepeluschnick says negotiations have been ongoing with the club regarding a new contract for the 29-year-old. However, he indicated that the two parties have not yet “found each other in talks”.

“Yeah, his contract is coming to an end, they have options [to extend],” Kepeluschnick told FARPost. “We have been trying to negotiate with them for a new contract, but we haven’t found each other at this stage.”
Mudau has been a regular for Sundowns this season, making 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals, and registering two assists.
In total, since his arrival at the club, he has played 144 matches across all competitions, netting eight goals and providing four assists.
Before Leopards, Mudau also turned out for JDR Stars and Magesi FC in the lower ranks.
With June fast approaching, Sundowns have a significant number of other players whose contracts are also set to expire. This list includes Devine Lunga, Terrence Mashego, Marcelo Allende, Jody February, Sipho Mbule, Sphelele Mkhulise, Mothobi Mvala, Musa Lebusa, and Rivaldo Coetzee.
Sundowns hold an option to extend the contracts of most of the players listed.
