Magesi FC duo win monthly PSL awards
In a testament to their fighting spirit, a Magesi FC duo has clinched the PSL’s March 2025 monthly awards, a reward for their stellar performance amidst a fierce relegation struggle.
The Limpopo-based side moved out of the relegation zone after claiming a crucial 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC this past weekend in a Betway Premiership tie. Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Thabang Sibanyoni netted the all-important goal to give Magesi maximum points at Seshego Stadium.
Magesi have been in an impressive run of form after claiming four wins in five league matches during the month of March. Dikwena tsa Meetse secured victories against SuperSport United, Richards Bay FC, Golden Arrows, and Stellenbosch. They only dropped points against Kaizer Chiefs after losing 1-0 at FNB Stadium on the 4th of March.
The change in fortunes saw them climb to the 11th position on the log standings with 26 points after 24 matches played.
As a result, head coach Owen Da Gama has scooped the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award while goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze won the Player of the Month award.
Da Gama joined Magesi in December 2024 following the resignation of Clinton Larsen, who led the club to the Carling Knockout Cup triumph in their first season in the top flight.
