Chiefs coach Nabi – ‘We are going through moment of bad luck’
Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has spoken out about his side’s continuing winless streak after a disappointing 1-1 draw with TS Galaxy.
Amakhosi have not tasted victory in their last four matches in the Betway Premiership, losing two and drawing two.
In their match against the Rockets on Saturday, Chiefs felt they had victory within their grasp, leading with Wandile Dina’s first half strike, only for Mlungisi Mbunjana to snatch a late equaliser for Galaxy, denying them all three points.
Following the match, Chiefs coach Nabi expressed his belief that the team had done everything possible to earn the maximum points, but felt that misfortune continues to haunt them.
NABI SAYS HIS SIDE HAS BEEN UNLUCKY NOT TO GET THE DESIRED RESULTS
“We think the players today [Saturday] did everything they could to get the good results,” said Nabi. “I feel we are going through a moment of bad luck because of the lack of results. But we’re going to hang in there, everyone has to push more and work hard.”
The Tunisian coach is confident that Chiefs will soon turn their fortunes around and is hopeful that they can secure a respectable position on the log standings by the end of the season.
“And we are pretty sure that the luck will come back and we will see where we finish at the end of the season.”
Since taking charge at the start of the season, Nabi has overseen ten victories, six draws, and eleven defeats for Chiefs.
The Soweto giants will now gear up for a crucial Nedbank Cup semifinal against Mamelodi Sundowns. The highly anticipated match will take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday, 13 April.
Meanwhile, their next league fixture will see them travel to face Chippa United on Saturday, 19 April at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
