Cardoso on what will be key to getting the better of Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has explained what will be key for his side to getting the better of Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.
The two sides will lock horns on Sunday, 13 April at Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 6 PM in Pretoria, battling for a spot in the final.
Masandawana will face the Phefeni Glamour Boys for the fourth time this season, having had a clean sweep, winning all three previous meetings.
Sundowns’ previous coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, oversaw two of those three triumphs – the Betway Premiership first-round clash and Carling Knockout quarter-final, while Cardoso was in charge for the most recent league victory.
The Portuguese coach says they will reflect on what worked well for them in their last win against Chiefs and also be mindful of the improvements that Nasreddine Nabi’s team has had since then.

CARDOSO SAYS CHIEFS CLASH WON’T BE ‘NORMAL’
“We need to play to win, but it’s not a normal match,” said Cardoso. “It’s a match that will put one team out of the competition, that brings the best out of all the players, from our side and from the Chiefs’ side.
“So, we just need to take ourselves to the top, understand what strategies [we will use] to adapt, how to face the game and overcome the difficulties that we will face in the game.
“We need to take a look at what we did the previous time and what Chiefs have done since then. And that work has been done in the backstages for sure, so tomorrow [Friday], we will discuss with my assistants the way we will go through the next days in order to take the team to that limit.”
The other semi-final between Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants will also take place on the same day at the Orlando Stadium at 3 PM.
