Burnley FC coach Scott Parker has provided the latest update on the injury of the Bafana Bafana forward Lyle Foster.
Parker spoke ahead of Burnley’s Championship tie against Watford FC on Friday, 18 April, at Vicarage Road Stadium. The game will kick off at 16:00 [SA time].
Burnley are fighting to gain promotion back to the English Premier League [EPL] with four matches left to play. As things stand, the side is placed second on the table with 88 points, equal on points with league leaders Leeds United.
The 24-year-old suffered a shoulder injury during their EFL 0-0 draw encounter with Derby County FC on Tuesday, 8 April 2025.
In the current season, the former Orlando Pirates product has played 30 games across all competitions for Burnley. He contributed three goals and weighed in with five assists.

WHAT DID SCOTT PARKER SAY ABOUT LYLE FOSTER’S INJURY PROGRESS
Parker confirmed that Forster’s injury isn’t as bad as they may have thought at first. He added that the SA frontman will be back before the season ends.
“We had some good news around Lyle [Foster], and we are hoping we will see him again before the end of the season. It may be as quick as over the next couple of games,” said Parker during a press conference ahead of the game against Watford.
“So, again, we are at the back end of the season. He is in the frame of mind where he wants to get back as well. We will see, we will slowly push him, we pushed him [on Wednesday], see how he comes out of that and take it gradually with him.
“From the initial worry, whilst it’s still a biggish injury, it’s stable and it might be something if Lyle can tolerate, it’s still a big ask, but we will see where Lyle progresses with that really.”
