Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has reflected on his recent contributions to the team, having seen an increase in his playing time lately.
The injuries to Amakhosi’s first-choice centre-backs, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel, have seemingly paved the way for Msimango to return to the field.
The 27-year-old defender had found it difficult to break into Nasreddine Nabi’s starting line-up, making just 11 appearances across all competitions this season.
However, since Dortley’s injury, Msimango has featured in seven consecutive matches in a row. He has expressed his delight with his performances, feeling that he is making a valuable contribution to the team.
MSIMANGO BELIEVES HE’S MAKING VALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO CHIEFS
“Personally, I’m in a good space, I’ve been putting in the hard work on and off the pitch,” said Msimango.
“And I feel confident in my contribution to the team. It’s always about improving and staying consistent.
“I believe the focus is starting to show in my performances. I’m just looking forward to maintaining strong performances.”

The Phefeni Glamour Boys will take on Chippa United on Saturday, 19 April in the Betway Premiership at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 5:30 PM.
Msimango expressed respect for the Chilli Boys; however, he’s confident that they have what it takes to win away from home.
CHIEFS DEFENDER HOPING FOR VICTORY OVER CHIPPA
“Chippa United are a very competitive side, very structured and disciplined,” Msimango added.
“We’ve faced them before in the league, and we came out victorious. We faced them in the cup as well; we managed to get one over them.
“But that doesn’t take away that we demand or we expect full concentration from the guys. We’ve studied them [Chippa] again, and we are ready to match their energy and intensity on the day.”
