Marumo Gallants to face Chiefs without key man

Marumo Gallants are set to face Kaizer Chiefs in a crucial Betway Premiership clash without one of their key players.

The Bloemfontein-based side will travel to Johannesburg to lock horns with Amakhosi at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 26 April [15:00]. Gallants willย aim to collect maximum points as they last tasted victory against TS Galaxy on March 30thย at Mbombela Stadium.

In their previous two matches, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa played two 1-1 draws against Golden Arrows and SuperSport United in the league.

On the other hand, Chiefs, who are also winless in their last five league matches, will be looking to return to winning ways against Gallants.

The Soweto giants suffered back-to-back defeats against Golden Arrows and Richards Bay FC and played draws against Cape Town City FC, TS Galaxy, and Chippa United.

EDGAR MANAKA WILL BE SUSPENDED AGAINST KAIZER CHIEFS

With both teams gunning for three points for the first time in April, Gallants will be without the services of their captain, Edgar Manaka.

The central-midfielder will serve a one-match suspension after accumulating his fourth yellow card of the season in Gallants’ last match against Arrows.

Manaka has been a standout performer for Gallants after featuring in 28 games in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

Meanwhile, Chiefs have also been dealt a blow as key attackers Gaston Sirino and Pule Mmodi will be suspended against Marumo Gallants. The duo will sit out for one match each due to suspensions.

Sirino has netted three goals and provided six assists in 22 matches across all competitions, while Mmodi has also played 22 games, scored four goals, and chipped in with one assist.

Other players who will be absent from their respective clubs are Lyle Lakay of SuperSport United and Sekhukhune United midfielder Khulekani Shezi.
