Nasreddine Nabi, the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs, has shared his thoughts on the club’s reserve team’s historic triumph in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC].
This marks the first time in Amakhosi’s history that their reserve side has clinched the DDC title.
Chiefs were confirmed the DDC champions after their comfortable 3-0 victory over Magesi FC. This encounter was played at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday morning. Imaad Hendricks, Nkosana Mbuthu, and Thulani Mabaso were on the scoresheet.
The Glamour Boys only needed three points from their remaining two matches to be crowned the 2024/25 DDC champions. This comes after they were awarded three points from their abandoned game against Chippa United. The Gqeberha-based outfit failed to honour their DDC fixture against the Chiefs on 1 February, and they were found guilty by the PSL.
As things stand, the Soweto giants are cruising nicely on the summit of the DDC table. They managed to accumulate 67 points after 27 games. Chiefs are now seven points ahead of second-placed Stellenbosch FC.
