Chippa United coach Thabo September has issued an update on his two midfielders, Siphelo Baloni and Andile Jali, both of whom have not featured for the club for a while.
Jali has not played for Chippa since February in both Betway Premiership and cup games, while Baloni, who is on loan from Orlando Pirates, has also not enjoyed any minutes since March 2025.
Baloni’s last match was during the 0-0 draw against Richards Bay FC before he sustained an injury. The 35-year-old Jali’s last game was during the 2-0 win over Cape Town City FC.
September has since revealed that both players have been struggling with injuries and are likely to feature anytime soon.
LATEST UPDATE ON MIDFIELDERS ANDILE JALI AND SIPHELO BALONI
“Siphelo [Baloni] is injured. Andile [Jali] has on-and-off injuries,โ said September after the 1-0 loss to Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday.

โSometimes he recovers and just when you think he is back and, he suffers] another injury, especially muscle injuries. But right now they are both injured.”
WHY CHIPPA UNITED ARE NOT GETTING CARRIED AWAY DESPITE BEING IN THE TOP EIGHT
Chippa United are currently positioned eighth in the Betway Premiership with four matches to play. Despite the top eight finish being their target, September acknowledges that it will not be an easy task.
“It’s tough. Games in hand don’t mean that you can go in. We have to play [Mamelodi] Sundowns twice; we have to play Marumo Gallants and SuperSport United,โ he added.
โThose are the last four games and the chances there, if you don’t have faith or belief, then you might as well stay out of the top eight. But we believe that this is our time, and the opportunity is there. You must grab it, and the next day takes us closer to the top eight.”
