A former Kaizer Chiefs defender is expected to leave Betway Premiership side Richards Bay FC when his contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Natal Rich Boyz have already parted ways with some loanees and sidelined some players who are highly likely to leave the club in June.

With several players facing uncertain futures, the club in the northern KZN could have a significant exodus during the upcoming transfer window.

Among the players linked with a potential exit from the Jomo Biyela-owned club is centre-back Austin Dube, largely due to his limited appearances this season.

The 32-year-old defender made his last appearance for Richards Bay on 29 September 2024, playing in their 1-0 Betway Premiership loss to Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium during the first round of the season.

DUBE NO LONGER TRAINING WITH RICHARDS BAY

FARPost has learnt that Dube, who has only played three matches across all competitions this season, is one of the players who have not been training with the team.

His departure would bring to an end his second spell at Richards Bay, which began at the start of the 2023/24 season upon his return from Kaizer Chiefs. His first stint with the club was between 2018 and 2020

Among other players reportedly not training with the first team are Siyabonga Dube and Romario Dlamini, who were informed they are not in the club’s future plans, as per information gathered by this publication.

Meanwhile, Richards Bay also cut short the loan spells of handful of players who were with them on loan. This includes Sabelo Radebe [Kaizer Chiefs], Thando Buthelezi and striker Thabang Sibanyoni [both Mamelodi Sundowns].

To bolster their squad for the remainder of the current season and the upcoming campaign, Richards Bay have also completed the signings of Mfundo Thikazi and Sbangani Shezi.
