Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has broken his silence on the growing reports linking two of his prized assets, Kabelo Kgositsile and Tshepho Mashiloane, with a transfer to Orlando Pirates.

Both Mashiloane and Kgositsile are said to have already agreed to join the Betway Premiership giants, Pirates, in the upcoming season.

Mashiloane, a versatile defender, was scouted by the Limpopo side while playing in a local tournament three years ago in the province. He has become a regular in the Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit, playing as both a centre-back and a right-back.

Meanwhile, Kgositsile joined Baroka after being scouted from one of the Kasi football tournaments in Gauteng. He was initially signed for the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] side before being promoted to the senior team.

WHAT KHURISHI MPHAHLELE SAID ON REPORTS LINKING TSHEPHO MASHILOANE AND KABELO KGOSITSILE TO ORLANDO PIRATES

“We still have three games to play [in the league]. Let me finish my three games, then I will tell you the good or bad news,” Mphahlele told FARPost when asked about the future of the two players.

“Well, that’s a good thing. If a team like Pirates is interested, it gives me pleasure, and that means I am doing something good. I wouldn’t want a player to play and end his career at Baroka.”

BAROKA FC BOSS PLEASED WITH HOW HIS TOP PLAYERS HAVE PERFORMED

“I want a player that other teams would also be interested in. If you are good enough, that means other teams must show interest in you.

“Mashiloane is our top defender. He has played all the matches but missed one due to suspension. Kgositsile, as well, has played all the matches.”

Meanwhile, Baroka still have a mathematical chance of securing a place in the PSL Promotion Playoffs. They are currently seventh on the log standings with 38 points, with three matches remaining. They are only six points behind the playoff spot, which is occupied by Black Leopards.
