After acquiring an ex-Orlando Pirates marksman, ailing Zimbabwean giants Dynamos FC are knocking on the door of a highly-rated PSL coach.
On Tuesday, the Harare giants confirmed the appointment of former Orlando Pirates star Takesure Chinyama as their strikers’ coach.
Chinyama, who had a short stint in the PSL at Pirates and Platinum Stars, is seen as the club’s ultimate solution for their goal-scoring woes.
Dynamos started the season brightly after accounting for the Castle Challenge Cup title. But their fortunes faded when the league kicked off in March.
After 10 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches, they have scored a paltry two goals. In addition, they have one win under their belt, with five draws and four defeats.
DYNAMOS TARGETING HIGHLY-RATED PSL COACH KAITANO TEMBO

In their quest for a change of fortunes, the Glamour Boys are on Kaitano Tembo’s door yet again. The club has engaged Tembo for a possible move to his former club. Tembo had a decent stint at SuperSport United as both a player and a coach.
He was recently redeployed to Sekhukhune United’s youth structures after Lehlohonolo Seema’s sacking. And Dynamos are once again on his doorstep with hopes of luring him to what will be his first coaching gig in Zimbabwe.
Though talks between Tembo and Dynamos have been stalling, FARPost understands the Harare giants are prioritising the soft-spoken mentor.
Meanwhile, they have pleaded with the insatiable club supporters to rally behind the current technical team led by Llyod Chigowe.
“The existing technical team, led by Head Coach Lloyd Chigowe, remains in charge, with our full support as we prepare for the crucial upcoming fixture this Sunday,” the club said.
“We believe this addition will provide fresh insights and immediate support where needed as well as aligning with our long-term vision for success.
“The club urges all stakeholders, including our passionate supporters, to remain united as we navigate this period of transition with caution.”
In truth, Dynamos FC, who are the record league title winners in Zimbabwe have faded behind the likes of Scottland FC who made huge investments in highly-rated players that include ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat and Walter Musona.
They last won the league title in 2014, then under the tutelage of Callisto Pasuwa, who now leads the Malawi National Team.
